In this intense drama, the wealthy and powerful Thakur Digvijay Singh (Raj Babbar) visits a village and falls for the beautiful Naina (Twinkle Khanna). They get engaged, but Naina secretly loves Karan (Ajay Devgn), the son of Thakur’s employee, Balwant (Amrish Puri). When Thakur learns of their affair, he orders his men to capture Naina alive and kill Karan. The couple flees to Bombay, pursued by bounty hunters lured by Thakur’s hefty reward. Balwant tracks them down in Bombay, and Karan is initially relieved to see his father. However, his hope shatters when Balwant, acting as Thakur’s agent rather than a father, demands Karan abandon Naina.
